  2. Help us name our ‘Cheeky Chopper!’

    We are poised to announce the name of our ‘cartoon’ helicopter at the end of January 2012.

    Our cheeky little character was designed and created by Dave Hindson, a paramedic and friend of the Charity and the naming competition was launched in last month’s edition of Beeline magazine.

    We have already received some great name ideas, but for those of you that have not yet entered; you have until 30th January 2012 to get in touch. (more…)


  3. Proceeds from Childrens Book to Air Ambulance

    Author Patrick Caruth has produced an enchanting new series of Children’s books and is donating £2.50 per copy to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

  6. A Lantern-lit evening of carol singing in Brent Knoll tonight!

    A torch-lit evening of carol singing will be held in the centre of Brent Knoll this evening (Monday 19 December 2011) in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

    The event will be held on the village green from 7pm.

    Event organisers have confirmed that the ‘Harmony Plus’ brass group will performing and are hoping that everyone who takes part, will bring a lantern or torch to add to the atmosphere. (more…)


  7. Lions roar AGAIN!

    Thank you to our friends from Wimborne and Ferndown Lions for donating £2,500 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.  The group are long-term supporters of the charity and have provided donations annually for many years.

    Tracy Bartram, DSAA communications manager was delighted to receive the cheque on the charity’s behalf from the Club’s President, Lion Derick Smith.

  8. Lights on for Air Ambulance

    We are once again, delighted to be the beneficiaries from a beautiful display of Christmas lights at the home of Elizabeth and Bernard Wright from Bridport.

    The Wright’s, who live in Edgehill Road in Bridport, have been lighting up the night sky over the festive season to help raise funds for the charity.

    Bernard painstakingly hung the festive lights which adorn their house and they were switched on by Wessex FM’s breakfast presenter James O’Neill. (more…)


  9. Quayside Cloggies dance for Air Ambulance

    The ‘Quayside Cloggies’ are a ladies dance group based in Bournemouth.    Formed in 1985, the group’s aim has been to retain and perform one of England’s dance traditions and to support local charities by way of collections when they ‘dance- out’.

    Over the years, the Quayside Cloggies have raised thousands of pounds for charity and for the third successive year, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was nominated as the group’s chosen beneficiary.

    Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance fund-raising co-ordinator, Annette Plaistow-Trapaud was delighted to receive a cheque from the brightly coloured group totalling £750.00 and thanked the members for their continued support.


  10. Taunton Deane bowl their way to £750

    December 13, 2011

    Our thanks go to Taunton Deane Bowling Club who presented a cheque for £750 to our Charity Manager, Charlotte Routley yesterday.  The money was raised during the club’s Ladies Captains Day.
