  1. Ilminster Rotary Hand Donation To Max Hoskins

    Max Hoskins, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Pilot was delighted to receive a cheque yesterday from Ilminster Rotary Club at the airbase.

  2. A Great Day at The Bristol Classic Bike Show

    The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance recently attended the Bristol Classic Bike show at the Bath and West Showground.  Mavis and Tony Bennett (DSAA

    volunteers) ran a stall selling all the charities merchandise, whilst Nick Pearce (DSAA fundraising coordinator) and his son Sam, ran a helmet park with all donations going to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

    Sales and donations on the day raised over £1,000 and a good day was had by everyone. (more…)


  3. A concert of Opera and Jazz – in Aid of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance

    A CONCERT OF OPERA AND JAZZ in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will take place on Friday 12th March at 7.30pm.  The venue for the evening will be St. Michael’s Church, Broad Street in Bath.

    Tickets are on sale for £10 (adults) and £6 (16 and under) at www.taraewood.com or alternatively you can purchase your ticket on the door.

  4. Linden Lea Foresters Present More Funds

    At their St Valentines Lunch and Tea Dance in the Bay View Suite at the Riviera Hotel, the President of the Linden Lea Branch of the Foresters,  Mr David Gibbs presented  Annette Plaistow-Trapaud (DSAA fundraising coordinator) with a cheque for £4000-00.

    This amazing amount was raised by Branch members in the Weymouth area during 2009 from their Charity Walk, the Sea Front Stall, Shop Collections and their Social Event Raffles.
    In 2008-9 Linden Lea Foresters have now raised £7000 in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and has agreed to continue to support the Charity for a further year.


  5. Mendip Ladies Bring and Buy

    February 18, 2010

    Members of the Mendip Ladies Group got together on Saturday 13th February for a Bring and Buy Sale.  The group charged £3 entrance fee which included a lovely bowl of soup and rolls.  The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has been nominated as the groups’ Charity Of The Year, with all proceeds going towards the groups fundraising goal.


  6. Langtry Manor Business Women Awards

  7. Gemini Tae Kwon-Do Presents 24 hour Tae Kwon-Do Sparathon

    Gemini Tae Kwon-Do is organising a 24 hour Sparathon to raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and in memory of Elliot Davies.

    The fundraising event will take place at 3.00pm on Saturday 1st May 2010 at Kings Fitness & Leisure, Station Road, Cheddar.

    Cost of entry is £5, plus a minimum sponsorship of £20 per person. (more…)

  9. Sebs’ Odyssey Concludes

    On February 1st 2010, Seb Green concluded his Odyssey which began exactly two years to the day, with a final presentation of cheques at Dorset County Hospital.

    In 2008 Seb, then aged 18 backpacked around Britain with only his border collie ‘Flash’ for company in an attempt to raise £20,000 for charity. (more…)


  10. Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance benefit from Christmas tree recycling

    Green-thinking West Dorset residents have saved more than 11 tonnes of Christmas trees from going to landfill.

    Last month, West Dorset District Council launched a pilot scheme that recycled trees by collecting them from people’s homes and taking them to be chipped and turned into mulch.

    The scheme has been so successful that it will be repeated next year throughout the month of January. (more…)
